- I do agree with you Kurt! I've had my Elite 2864 (analog) for 4 months now and
- it seems impossible to get the modem to connect reliable. In spite of ROM ver
- 1.09 (Dec 12, -94). The Elite 2864 product should never have been sold. We
- owners are in fact beta testers...
-
- I have also a USR Courier V.34 at my job. I borrowed it home for a period and
- made some comparison tests. I tried 50 connects with each modem. About 50 % of
- these made no connections at all using the Elite 2864. Using instead the
- Courier, 47 connections were established at 28k8 and 3 (!) at 26k6. I made the
- 50 local local calls to V.34 modems of the following brands (about equal
- distribution):
-
- - ERICSSON
-
- - USR Courier
-
- - USR Sportster
-
- - Microcom
-
- - Motorola
-
- A week ago my boss asked me to purchase 2 additional modems to our department.
- He said 'Buy whatever brand you find reliable, Ulf'. With sorrow in my hart,
- but due to my bad Zyxel Elite 2864 experience, I ordered 2 pcs USR V.34
- modems...
